Being a Mom
I always say that my most important job is being a Mother to my two boys. Growing up in Guelph, we had our immediate family and a loving extended family here and a large, loving family overseas. I was fortunate to have a kind, generous mother who set an example of the mother I wanted to be someday. She taught me that being a mother may be the hardest job in the world, but it is by far the most rewarding.
With everything that has come to light with the pandemic state of emergency, and stay at home legislation over the last 7 weeks, it gives me a great sense of gratitude for family, children, and the impact we have on their lives especially at these times.
My family is my world, and I created an environment and business culture that allows me to put them first. That may mean I work from home because one of the boys is sick, or my clients might get an email from me at midnight because I put off a project until the boys went to bed. And I believe every woman deserves the same work-life balance. But always remembering that Family comes first. It always will.
To the mothers of all kinds, I want to wish you a Happy Mother’s Day.
XOXO Frances
