Day 4 of Giving is the 4 cups of coffee! With our local feature business and local charity being:
Feature Business: Planet Bean Coffee
Spotlight Charity: Canadian Cancer Society – Wellington
Day 4 of giving is proud to spotlight the Canadian Cancer Society of Guelph-Wellington for the Charity of The Day!

The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life for people living with cancer. Their vision is to create a world where no Canadian fears cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) was officially formed in 1938, but the seeds for the organization were planted back in 1929 when the Saskatchewan Medical Association formed the country’s first cancer committee. This committee responded to growing concern by doctors that people were not aware of the signs of cancer. By the time people consulted a doctor, their cancer was advanced and their chances for survival were decreased. The Canadian Cancer society helps fund groundbreaking research so we can better detect, diagnose and treat Canadians with cancer and help ensure that people affected, including families and caregivers, get the support they need. If you, or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, you’ll have many questions and concerns. The local chapters are here to help, and offer a support system for people with cancer and their family, friends and caregivers. If you would like to volunteer, or donate to this fantastic endeavour, or for more details, please click here.
Day 4 of giving is proud to feature Planet Bean Coffee as the local business of the Day!

Planet Bean began roasting coffee in downtown Guelph in 1997. They were the first roastery in the City for at least half a century. From the beginning their focus was on certified Fairtrade and organic gourmet arabica coffee. The scent of their coffee roastery became a part of the downtown experience and was an aromatic beacon for anyone with a fine sense of flavour. Although Planet Bean has moved shop a few times and changed its structure and expanded, they currently have two locations serving all kinds of excellent coffee beverages created by their highly skilled team of baristas. Fresh roasted coffee beans are also available for purchase. They roast to order in small batches and don’t warehouse any of the roasted coffee so it is always fresh roasted when shipped. Planet Bean also has a thriving wholesale business which supplies cafes, restaurants, gourmet and specialty grocers, businesses, churches, universities and schools.
You can visit their website to learn more about their fresh organic fair trade coffee and other related products here: https://www.planetbeancoffee.com/ Or go visit them in person following social distancing at one of their two locations: Downtown Market Square at 2 Wyndham Street, Guelph or Grange Plaza at 259 Grange Road E., Guelph
Support your local businesses, neighbours, and families as this is an investment in the health and future of our community!
Today is the 4th day of giving! One of my lucky facebook followers will win (4) four – $5 coffee gift cards! Use them as stocking stuffers or keep for yourself and savour some truly great coffee! Once we get 12 comments on the official facebook post, Canadian Cancer Society Guelph-Wellington will also receive a $50 donation!!
