It’s almost time….It’s almost here, and it is our 10th year!
It’s the 2020 Annual **12 Days of Giving – 12 Days of Christmas GIVEAWAY!!**
The 10th Annual “12 Days of Giving”!
Giving back to the community, and strengthening the communities where we live and work, is important to me, either through volunteering my time, energy or money to charitable causes in the community. For each and every home I am honoured to be a part of buying or selling, a portion of my commissions is donated to our Royal LePage Shelter Foundation which is Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. These funds in turn are then provided to our local Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis centre, providing shelter and services to vulnerable women and children in our region.
With a philanthropic intent during the holidays, over the past 9 years, I have held a fun holiday contest for the fans & followers of my Facebook community page. I call it “The 12 Days of Giving”, it involves 12 days of fun posts or contests highlighting specific local charities each day, and provides my followers with some fun gifts, but also donations to local charities in the community. The 12 Days of Christmas is traditionally the time between Christmas (Dec 25th) and the Epiphany (January 6th) – however, my contest for the “12 days of Giving” this year starts on December 8th, 2020 and ends on December 22nd.
Over the years, it has been so amazing to surprise friends, family, past & current clients, and meet new acquaintances with a daily surprise! For each of the 12 days of Giving, I give away a variety of goodies and gifts to help people through the holiday season and also help out several local charities. This giveaway is open to all followers or fans of my Facebook page. If we get a certain number of comments on a particular post, there is a lucky winner chosen for that day randomly for the special gift, and a local spotlight charity also receives a special donation. This year, with the Covid pandemic, some businesses and establishments have had a very difficult year. Thus, we have some great daily prizes from local establishments and shops in the area and will be featuring these businesses as well. Keep the gifts for yourself or regift them to another someone special – your choice!

I really appreciate everyone’s participation online and have involved my own kids, as they have previously drawn some of the winning names out of a box for all the entries. However, with the increase of participants I have moved to technology for the random winner to be chosen over the past couple years! But the kids still help in determining what each of the “Day of Giving” details will be.
I am very fortunate and grateful to be in the real estate business and be able to work with such great people on a daily basis. That’s why I like to do a little something fun to give back to the people in my online community and bring the season of giving back in the local community overall.
The 12 days of Christmas will be starting up very soon, so hopefully I can surprise you in my online community with a little extra something special this Christmas!
