Day 2 of giving is proud to spotlight Canadian Blood Services Guelph for the Charity of the Day!

Canadian Blood Services – Day 2 of Giving

There are many ways you can donate and it doesn’t need to be financial.  In Canada, someone needs blood every 60 seconds. YOU have the power to give someone that gift, the gift of life. There is a constant need for blood donors across the country, and you can help right here in Guelph.  It’s right there in you to give! When donating blood, the standard donation is approximately TWO CUPS. This represents a small portion of the blood in a person’s body, as the average adult has about 5 litres.

Canadian Blood Services is a not-for-profit charitable organization that operates independently from government.  They focus on life essentials for transfusion and transplantation, including blood, plasma, organs, tissues, and stem cells.  Their vision is to help every patient, to match every need and to serve every Canadian.  Blood, plasma, platelets, stem cells, organs and tissues are a critical part of everyday medical care including major surgeries, medical procedures, cancer treatments and managing diseases.  You could be helping a child being treated for cancer, a mother who has just given birth, or a father about to have heart surgery. Every donation you make matters. It matters to every patient and their loved ones across Canada. Click here, to read some of the impactful stories. The Guelph clinic is located at 130 Silvercreek Pkwy and is currently only available by appointment. So make your appointment to give!
